The MRC Camp Meeting will be held Thursday, July 14 to Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Palmetto Campground in Palmetto, LA. The Guest Speakers will be Rev. Dr. Dwight Fontenot and Dr. Argenis Conner-Fontenot, Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Out pouring- the act of pouring out
Encounter- face to face meeting often between advisories.

Raised in Opelousas, LA, Rev. Dr. Dwight Fontenot is the third son of Herman and Olita Fontenot. He received his BA degree at Louisiana State University and a doctoral degree in Cognitive Psychology all from the University of Michigan. For the past 29 years, Dr. Fontenot has been the Associate Director of the Comprehensive Studies Program (CSP). In his time, he has had oversight of the academic and student success offerings at CSP. Under his leadership, the program has tripled in size now serving more than 3000 undergraduate scholars. One of the most successful programs of CSP is the Summer Bridge Scholars Program. Through his efforts, this program has focused on Growth Mindset, Academic Self-efficacy, Motivation, and Sense of Belonging to deliver a persistence rate of 98% and a graduation rate of 87%.
Rev. Dr. Fontenot is a minister, teacher, and worshipper. Currently, he is an associate pastor at the Community Church of God, Ypsilanti, Michigan where Rev. Portia D. Mann is Pastor. He is currently the Minister of Music and leads the teaching ministry for adults. He is the husband of Dr. Argenis Conner-Fontenot and together, God has blessed them with the Amazing Love Ministries.
Argenis Conner-Fontenot, PhD is a born again believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was born and raised in Ypsilanti, MI. where she still resides. Dr. Jeanie, as she prefers to be called, is a woman whom God has blessed with many talents and gifts. She is a singer whose gift was nurtured by her mother at an early age. Among those gifts are administration, and organization, all used to glorify God. Since answering the call of God to preach and teach, Dr. Jeanie is devoted to intercessory prayer, counseling young women, and most recently ministering to seniors. She serves on the ministerial staff at the Community Church of God in Ypsilanti. Dr. “I believe am called to make a difference in God’s kingdom.”
Dr. Jeanie is married to Rev. Dr. Dwight Fontenot, and together they are the creators of several ministries that focus on community needs and actions. Dr. Jeanie holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work, a Certificate in Community Organizing and a Doctorate of Sociology, all from Eastern Michigan University. Together the Fontenot’s have two sons, and (3) grandchildren.
